AIAA 2026 ASCEND Conference

ESRA will be joining the AIAA 2026 ASCEND conference in Washington DC from 19 May to 21 May 2026. ESRA volunteers and successful collegiate teams will inform conference attendees what it takes to compete in IREC and about opportunities to volunteer.

Volunteer Highlight

This week, Dann Schantz, ESRA’s Drone Coordinator, was recognized on ESRA’s social media. This is what they wrote:

“Dann has been volunteering with ESRA for the past two years, serving as a drone coordinator and supporting the live streaming of event activities. He brought together students and professionals, while giving them the opportunity to gain valuable flight hours while being part of the experience.

“When asked why someone would volunteer with ESRA, Dann didn't overcomplicate it: 'Volunteering with ESRA gives a glimpse into the future. Space is a challenge that unites humanity, and ESRA allows hands-on experience in leading students toward that future.'"
