Volunteer Highlight: Stephanie Taylor

This week, Stephanie Taylor, ESRA’s Event Manager, was recognized on ESRA’s social media. This is what they wrote:

“Stephanie has been a volunteer with ESRA for three years, first brought in by a little nudge from her husband. Since then, she’s been excited to be part of an organization helping build the next generation of aerospace engineers.

“She has so many good memories, especially watching students go through the emotions before, during, and after their launches and seeing their many hours of hard work come together and end in a successful rocket launch. She admires how students bring a fresh perspective, curiosity, and a willingness to try things, and how their energy can make even challenging work feel fun and purposeful.

“For Stephanie, volunteering is like a gift that somehow lands in you own hands. It is not because you expect anything in return, but because human connection fills you up as much as it helps others. There is a connection with students and fellow volunteers, all brought together by a shared purpose and a genuine desire to make a difference. This shared intention creates a strong foundation of trust and respect.”

What to Bring

Water bottles, electrolytes, and hats.

It will be a long, hot, dry, and sunny day at the launch site. Make sure you are prepared to keep yourself hydrated and cool.
