Volunteer Highlight

This week, Mohi Khan, ESRA’s Director of Launch Operations, was recognized on ESRA’s social media. This is what they wrote:

“Mohi Khan is ESRA’s Director of Launch Operations. He has been an IREC competitor since 2012 and became a volunteer in 2022. Wanting to give back and recognizing how impactful IREC is for students, ESRA felt like a natural way for him to pay that forward. He was also drawn to ESRA’s mission of balancing education, safety, and technical challenges while supporting students through real-world engineering experiences.

“Through ESRA, Mohi hopes to continue growing while giving back to the STEM and rocketry community. Working alongside passionate volunteers and seeing their impact on students is incredibly rewarding. Having learned from his own mistakes over the years, he hopes to help students avoid similar pitfalls and make better-informed decisions.

“Mohi believes that becoming an ESRA volunteer is one of the most direct ways to make a real impact on the next generation of STEM students and problem-solvers. Volunteers get the chance to mentor, guide, and support students as they take on challenges that mirror real-world engineering more closely than a classroom ever could. ESRA is volunteer-driven and built on people who care, and if you enjoy giving back, collaborating with others, and helping students succeed in a safe and supportive environment, it is hard to find a better place to do that.”
